One free tool instead of many poll apps
People often use one app to find a meeting date, another to see when everyone is free, a third for a quick vote and a fourth for sign-ups. PollIt does all of these in one place: free, with no account needed and no ads. If you know one of the other tools, here is the PollIt poll that does the same job.
Meeting polls: Doodle, Rallly, Framadate
These tools show dates as columns and let people tick the ones that work. In PollIt that is a meeting poll: yes, if need be or no for each date and time, time zones, your own calendar next to the options, a final decision with calendar links, and invitations with reminders.
Availability grids: When2meet, Crab.fit, LettuceMeet
These show a grid of hours where everyone paints their free time. The PollIt availability poll does the same, with an "if need be" brush, a heat map, the best times for the length you need, and grids of specific dates or of plain weekdays.
Quick votes: StrawPoll and the polls in messengers
For a fast vote on a few options, use an online poll: one choice or several, yes / maybe / no for each option, pictures, an "Other" answer, live results, and one vote per browser, internet address, account or invitation.
Ranked voting: OpaVote, CIVS, condorcet.vote
For elections and priorities, a ranked-choice poll counts the ballots by Borda count, instant runoff (round by round) and Condorcet / Schulze (with the table of head-to-head results), all at once.
Sign-up sheets
For potlucks, shifts and places on a trip, a sign-up sheet has items or time slots with a number of places, first come first served, a waiting list and your own questions.
Booking pages: Calendly and similar tools
To let people book time with you, a booking page offers your weekly hours as free slots, with breaks between bookings, minimum notice, group sessions, busy times from your calendar, and confirmations with a calendar file.
Live polls and word clouds: Mentimeter, Slido, Poll Everywhere
For a room full of people, put any PollIt poll on the screen in presentation mode: a QR code and a six-digit code let people join from their phones, and the results update live. An open question adds a word cloud.
What you get with PollIt
- Free, with no ads and no account needed; an optional account keeps your polls on every device.
- Eight kinds of poll in one place, all with the same settings for privacy, deadlines and results.
- Five languages: English, Czech, German, Spanish and French.
- No cookies and no tracking; the database is kept in the European Union.
- A public JSON API and signed webhooks for your own scripts.
What PollIt does not do
To be fair to the others: PollIt does not sign in to Google or Microsoft calendars (it reads calendar files and addresses instead), does not create video-call links when you decide, and takes no payments. If you need those, a paid scheduling tool may suit you better.
Doodle, When2meet, StrawPoll, Calendly and the other names on this page are trademarks of their owners. PollIt is not connected with them.
